|
Scuba Instructor BASIC PURPOSE Must be able to present and sell the tour and snorkel program to the guests in a clear and professional format with emphasis on the safety & value of the shore excursion program.
JOB DESCRIPTION - Is required to perform the same duties as a Shore Excursion Staff member.
- Is familiar with the rolls & responsibility of the assistant Shore Excursion Manager.
- Will escort and guide the Dive In snorkeling tours and is responsible for the safety and enjoyment of the guests while on tour.
- OWSI is to represent the image of the company and are to perform all activities in an enthusiastic in a professional manner.
- Communicates clearly and directly with employees concerning performance reviews and expectations, productivity, and accountability.
- Refers to the Shore Excursions Manual on a regular basis to ensure standardization of product and quality is maintained.
- Must be familiar with the Safety and Environmental Protection Policy and the SEMS, and carry out the policies and procedures appropriate for his/her position.
- To perform any other task or duty as required.
NATURE AND SCOPE Quality of the tours is to be closely monitored to ensure a superior level of safety, value, and guest enjoyment. KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE - Individual must be sales orientated.
- Individual must be well organized & possess good managerial skills.
- Must be a certified scuba instructor through one of the nationally recognized certifying agencies.
- The candidate must hold current teaching status, proof of insurance, must hold a current First Aid & CPR certificate.
- The candidate must also be in excellent physical shape, have superior in-water skills and a good knowledge of marine life and marine ecology.
- Dive Instructor must have an extroverted, friendly personality and be comfortable dealing with the public both in and out of the water.
- Must be fluent in the English language with a superior ability to write clear and concise reports, correspondence and effective onboard promotional material.
- Must be able to provide effective Shore Excursion briefings and conduct Q&A sessions with guests and colleagues.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with situations as they develop and to define problems, gather data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Applications: Word, Excel, AS400, Fidelio, and Power Point.
